Xbox Play Anywhere applies to qualifying purchases through the Xbox console or Xbox on PC store, according to Activision’s support notes. That is a specific purchase benefit. It should not be generalized into a claim that a Steam, Battle.net or PlayStation purchase includes all other versions.
Online play, split-screen and accounts
Activision Support lists two-player split-screen Multiplayer for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It does not list PC or Switch 2 split-screen in the checked answer. Online console subscriptions and game ownership remain separate requirements; check the terms for your device.
MW4’s account support page requires an Activision account for online play and confirms crossplay and cross-progression. Continue on platforms linked to the same Activision account; moving a platform account to a different Activision account does not transfer its progression.
