COD MW4 beta dates and platform history
These Pacific times fall within daylight saving time in America/Los_Angeles. The table preserves the publisher’s announced schedule, including the originally scheduled Open Beta end; it does not claim to verify a later extension or the final server shutdown instant.
| Window | Official announced schedule | Platforms |
|---|---|---|
| Early Access: Weekend One | August 21, 11:00 AM PT – August 25, 10:00 AM PT | Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PS5, Steam, Battle.net |
| Open Beta: Weekend Two | August 28, 10:00 AM PT – September 1, 10:00 AM PT (original scheduled end) | The above platforms plus Nintendo Switch 2 |
Who could join each window?
Weekend One used qualifying pre-orders or redeemed beta codes. Nintendo Switch 2 was excluded from that early weekend. Weekend Two was the open period and did not require a pre-order or beta code.
Those historical rules do not create full-game ownership. A code advertised for the old early weekend is not a shortcut into the Campaign, DMZ or the October release. Treat a current seller’s claim carefully if it promises entry to an event whose announced dates are past.
Progress and rewards after the beta
The official beta guide distinguishes eligible cosmetic rewards from gameplay progress. Earned eligible rewards stay tied to the Activision account for the full release, while player rank, weapon unlocks and other in-beta progression do not continue.
The published eight level rewards ranged from the Through the Paces emblem at level 4 to the Beta Forged Han 86 blueprint at level 30. They were earned during the event; this archive does not claim they can still be unlocked now. If an earned reward is missing, preserve evidence of the qualifying account and use official support rather than a third-party code seller.
What to do now
No additional beta window was verified in the official sources checked on October 22. A new official announcement would be needed before we label another event as open.
- Use the full release schedule to plan when your platform can play.
- Check whether your existing digital order qualifies for the separate Campaign or DMZ window.
- Use launch PC requirements rather than the beta hardware table.
- Check the live product listing before reusing a beta download as an installation guide.
COD MW4 beta FAQ
Can I still use a COD MW4 beta code?
The announced beta periods ended. A code for those periods does not supply a current play window or a full-game license.
Will MW4 beta rank carry over?
The official beta guide says player rank and other gameplay progression reset; eligible earned beta rewards are treated separately.
Can I reuse my MW4 beta Activision account?
Yes. The official account overview says you can use it again. Earned beta bonus content remains associated with the qualifying account, so creating another account is not a way to move those rewards.
